Pierre Soccer Begins Playoffs Tuesday

The Pierre Governor Soccer teams are both the lower seeds heading into its first round matchups on Tuesday as the girls face Rapid City Central and the boys will go against Watertown.

The girls contest is the first game of four in Rapid City at Sioux Park which begins at 1:00 Central Time. It’s the 6-11 matchup but the Governors are facing a team which they were less than a minute away from beating the Cobblers back on September 5. Since then, the Govs are 3-2-0 and have outscored opponents 17-4 in that span.

For the boy’s game, the Governors face the Watertown Arrows who have not played since September 19. The Arrows did go 7-1-1 on the season but the near three week layoff has to hurt the Arrows and help the Governors in wanting to pull off the upset. Watertown Arrows head coach, Josh Harte says he expects a physical game…
