Pierre Spring Baseball Starts Season With Two Wins

The Pierre Spring Baseball team was in action last night as they took on Huron at home for a double header. Pierre would take care of business in both games winning game one 4-1 and game two 7-5.

In game one Peyton Zabel would get the start and he pitch a beauty as he struck out 14 allowed no hits through five innings of work. Garrett Stout and Austin Hoss would come in to finish the game up on the mound. Stout got his bat going in game one as he was three for four with three singles.

In game two Maguire Raske would get the start as he just went two inning pitching pretty well as he had five strikeouts, allowed one run, had two walks and hit three batters. Dawson Puekpke, Grey Zabel, Stout and Austin Hoss would come in to finish the game on the mound. Zabel had a good game at the plate going two for two with a single and a triple and he scored once.

With the two wins Pierre goes to 2-0 on the season and they will be on the road next Friday as they will take on Brookings. It will be a double header with games starting at 4 and 6 pm. Tomorrow’s game against Sioux Falls O’Gorman has been cancelled due to the weather.
