Pierre Swim Team Competes In Aberdeen and Chamberlain

PIERRE, S.D. – Members of the Pierre Swim Team (PST) have started to ramp up their long course season, competing in Chamberlain and Aberdeen the past two weekends.

16 Pierre swimmers competed in the Chamberlain Invitational on June 9th. Every PST competitor swam either personal best or state qualifying times. Meet highlights included:

  • Katelynn Axtell – 1st Female 13-19              50 fly and breast strokes
  • Jaycee Bauer – 1st Female 9-10                100 IM, 50 freestyle and fly
  • Amara Dell – 1st Female 9-10                50 back, breast and fly
  • Mason Dell – 1st Male 13-20                  200 IM, 50 back, breast and fly
  • Sorrine Ekle – 2nd Female 9-10                100 IM, 50 free and back
  • Avry Frost – 9th Male 9-10                    50 back
  • Presley Frost – 1st Female 8&U                50 back
  • Jagger Gardner – 1st Male 8&U                   25 and 50 free, 50 back
  • Karly Harris – 8th Female 13-19              50 fly
  • Katelyn Harris – 4th Female 13-20              200 IM
  • Kelan Harris – 1st Male 11-12                  50 free, back
  • Gunnar Jones – 1st Male 9-10                    50 back, breast stroke
  • Ava Lavinger – 3rd Female 9-10                100 IM, 50 back
  • Brylee Pelle – 1st Female 8&U                25 back
  • Kathryn Stolley – 7th Female 9-10                100 IM
  • Michelle Weiss – 1st Female 13-19              200 IM, 50 free

15 PST members traveled to Aberdeen to swim in the Aberdeen Summer High Point meet. Highlights of the meet included:

  • Presley Frost – 6th      Female 7-8                  50 and 100 back stroke
  • Karly Harris – 10th Female 13-14                         200 breast stroke
  • Katelyn Harris – 7th Female 13-14                         200 breast stroke
  • Kelan Harris – 5th Male 11-12                 100 backstroke
  • Caleb Huizenga – 1st Male 17-19                 50 and 100 freestyle
  • Ella Ward-Zellar – 1st Female 13-14                         100 back and fly,  200 IM,
  • Mason Ward-Zellar – 2nd, Male 11-12 100 breast and butterfly, 200 IM

Amara Dell, Ella Ward Zellar and Caleb Huizenga all finished second in the high point competitions for their groups. Mason Ward-Zellar placed third in his group.

PST members will be traveling to Rapid City and Mitchell for meets this coming weekend.
