Pierre Swimmers Compete at the Black Hills Gold Invitational

SPEARFISH, S.D. – Twelve members of the Pierre Swim Team (PST) traveled to Spearfish to swim at the Black Hills Gold Invitational meet on the campus of Black Hills State University.

All twelve members placed in the top 10 swimmers in at least one of their events and had a strong showing for this early season meet.

Meet highlights for PST:

  • Beth Brewer – 7th in the 200 individual medley
  • Colton Cass – 5th in the 50 free and a state qualifying time and 2nd in the 100 backstroke
  • Amara Dell – 4th in the 100 backstroke
  • Mason Dell – 1st in the 50 and 100 breaststroke and 100 butterfly
  • Charlotte Hull – 7th in the 100 free
  • Savannah Shrake – 1st in the 50 free, 100 and 200 back and her first state qualifying times in the 400 and 1500 free
  • Reagan Spomer – 5th in the 200 breaststroke
  • Nevaeh Starr – 10th in the 100 butterfly
  • Rian Starr – 2nd in the 100 butterfly
  • Ella Ward-Zellar – 1st in the 100 and 400 freestyle, 100 backstroke, 100 breast stroke, and 200 and 400 individual medleys. Ella also swam 4 AA national times
  • Mason Ward-Zellar – swept 1st in 8 events, swimming AA times in the 100 breast and the 100 and 200 individual medleys
  • Deni Zeeb – 1st in the 100, 400 and 1500 freestlye, 100 breast stroke, 100 butterfly and 400 individual medley.

PST’s next meet is the Mitchell Aquatic Club Winter Invitational, which will be held at the Pierre YMCA, Dec. 1-3.
