Pierre Trappers Drop Another One At Home

The Pierre Trappers were in action last night at home against the Western Nebraska Pioneers. Pierre would drop another tough one in a final score of 12 to 3.

The Trappers were only able to register six hits in the game as the Pioneers had 13. UCF Golden Knight, Jack Sinclair started the game for the Pioneers. He went five innings deep and gave up two earned runs. This was a much better outing for Sinclair than his first. In his first appearance he only went three innings deep, and he gave up two earned runs.

The Pioneers started the game slow. They didn’t score any runs in the first three innings, and they came in to the fourth inning trailing 1-0. The fourth inning is when everything began to unravel for the Trappers. Thanks to some quality batting by the Pioneers and some poor fielding by the Trappers, the Pioneers were able to score nine runs.

Only two of the nine runs scored in the fourth inning were earned runs by starting pitcher Jackson Back. Back was the losing pitcher for the Trappers as he went three and two thirds gave up seven hits, nine runs (two earned), two walks and three strike outs.

With the lost the Trappers record drops to 7-10. The Trappers will have a chance to shake this one off quickly as once again they are back at home for a game with the Western Nebraska Pioneers tonight at 6:35 from Hyde Stadium.
