Pierre Trappers Jump to Early Lead Before Game Called

The Pierre Trappers jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the top of the first before the game was called due to rain after an inning and a half of play on Tuesday in Minot against the Souris Valley Sabre Dogs.

Zane Phelps, Cooper McMurray and Carson Max all singled home the five runs in the first inning as all nine guys came to the plate in the top of the first. Michael Cabeza had a perfect bottom of the first innings on the hill for the Trappers.

There is no word on if or when the game will be made or resume. It’s a tough break for a team in a desperate need of a win seven games under .500 with only 14 games left on the schedule. Souris Valley is back in Pierre on Wednesday and Thursday to wrap up the season series against the Sabre Dogs. First pitch on Wednesday is at 7:05.
