Pierre Trappers Open Spearfish Series with Win

The Beef Cup is now staring the Pierre Trappers in the face after a 13-2 win over the Spearfish Sasquatch on Thursday. The Trappers now just need one more win to clinch the Beef Cup.

Ken Scott kicked off the scoring in the first inning with a solo shot but it was answered with a solo shot by Spearfish in the third inning. As Spearfish added another run it was a stale mate into the seventh inning. Then a nine run inning doomed the Sasquatch as the Trappers did all the damage with only three hits and the rest were by walks.

For Coach Tanner Neale, picking up the win in the first game of the series makes clinching the Beef Cup a lot easier…

The nine run outburst in the seventh obviously helped when the game on Thursday, but according to Neale, it will carry into Friday…

The pitching staff continues to be good for the Trappers and Neale has taken notice…

The Trappers need just one win in the next four games this weekend against Spearfish to win the Beef Cup. You can listen all of this weekend’s game on Capital City Rock and capitalcityrock.com starting with tonight’s first pitch at 7:05.
