Pierre Trappers Send Four to All Star Game

The Pierre Trappers went through a nine game winning streak from the end of June through the beginning of July. To have that kind of success you need a couple of players to carry the load and that’s what they received from four players who will be attending this year’s Expedition League All Star team. Jackson Back, Kyle Nordby, Zane Phelps and Michael Herrera will all head to Minot after Sunday’s game to participate in the 2019 All Star Game as representatives from the Pierre Trappers.

Jackson Back has a sub two ERA so far this season while Kyle Nordby has posted a 4-1 record on the mound for the Trappers.

For Back, every day is a chance to continue to improve…

Nordby talked about how the All Star game is different for a pitcher to empty the tank…

Zane Phelps continues to hit home runs as he is the league leader in that category with double digit  home runs after the game on Wednesday. For Phelps, he enjoys that he’s been recognized through the league, even on the road trips and not everybody can see the effort he puts in…

Michael Herrera has been the most consistent Pierre Trappers throughout the season. Even with the slow start, Herrera has been the best Trapper player. He is also making his second appearance in the All Star game. This time, Herrera will appreciate it more, especially being his last year of summer ball…

The All Star game takes place at Corbett Field in Minot, North Dakota this coming Tuesday night.
