After splitting the first two games of the series on Friday and Saturday, the Pierre Trappers dominated their way to a series win on Sunday in Dickinson, North Dakota defeating the Badlands Big Sticks 13-4.
Cooper McMurray, Zane Phelps and E.J Ranel all went deep in the win as those three combined for nine of the 15 hits and 10 of the 11 RBIs in the win. A.J Fell picked up the win on the bump as he went six and two thirds giving up three runs on seven hits, one walk and three strike outs. Fell’s ERA is now 1.99 on the season. The Trappers added to their 6-1 lead in the top of the seventh putting up a five spot and cruising to the win pulling them just two games under .500 with the off day on Monday. Pierre has pulled to being within 2.5 games of the Big Sticks for first place of the Lewis Division.
The Trappers will be back in action on Tuesday after the off day on Monday in Fremont, Nebraska as they take on the Moo.
