Pierre Trappers Win Beef Cup Friday Night

On a Friday night capped off with fireworks, the Pierre Trappers gave the fans something great to cheer about after a wild comeback scoring six runs in the final three innings, the Trappers won 9-6 over the Spearfish Sasquatch and claimed the Beef Cup for the second straight year.

Down 6-3 heading into the sixth inning, two runs scored an RBI groundout and single to pull within one. Then, Niko Piazza singled down the left field line to give the Trappers a 8-6 lead to put the Trappers ahead for good. In the top of the ninth, a fly ball out to right field ended the ball game and the dog pile ensued…

Coach Tanner Neale, said make the comeback, in front of the home crowd, to win the beef cup, was a lot of fun…
