Pierre Trappers Win Wild Game against Badlands

In one of the wildest back and forth games of the season, the Pierre Trappers were able to win in the series opener against Badlands in more of a football score 17-16.

The game combined for 39 hits and 33 runs combined in the ball game that no team could hold on to the lead until the bottom of the ninth as Bill Moreland picked up the win and held on to one run lead in the ninth for the Trappers third straight win, their first three game winning streak of the season.

The Trappers failed to score in just one inning the entire ballgame as they received RBI from everyone in the lineup except Michael Herrera. The Trappers lead 2-0 after the top of the first but trailed 11-7 after the third inning before reclaiming the lead 12-11 in the fifth inning. Badlands took a 16-15 lead after the eighth inning and the Trappers need one more big inning. With two outs in the ninth, Nick Altermatt came to the plate with a runner on first…

The Trappers looked for the win in the bottom of the ninth with Moreland on in this wild game…

The two teams will go for an encore tonight as first pitch is scheduled for 7:35 on Capital City Rock and capitalcityrock.com
