(KCCR) — A Pierre woman, wanted by authorities in Sully County for questioning in an assault investigation was arrested in Pierre early Thursday for driving intoxicated…for the sixth time. A Pierre police officer observed the suspect, 33 year-old Patty Peneaux, driving into Pierre around one AM. Pierre police made contact with Peneaux after the Sully County Sheriff’s Office asked for assistance in locating the woman. As police investigated, officers observed signs of impairment with Peneaux, who told police she had taken a bottle of cold medicine before using the vehicle she was in. Police took Peneaux into custody for a sixth offense D-U-I in a ten year period along with charges of Driving with a Revoked License, Ingesting a Substance to Become Intoxicated and a violation of the 24-7 program. Sully County Sheriff Bill Stahl says charges of Simple Assault-Domestic Violence are pending again Peneaux in Sully County. Peneaux was transported to the Hughes County Jail.
