Post 8 Baseball Beats Mitchell, Sturgis Rained Out

Post 8 was unable to play both games on Thursday but did beat Mitchell 7-2 before being rained out in the first inning of the Sturgis game leading 3-1.

Against Mitchell, Post 8 used a six run fourth inning to break open a 6-0 lead on Post 18 en route to the 7-2 win. Lincoln Kienholz had a two out, two RBI double to break open the game for the Eights. Garrett Stout picked up the win throwing five innings giving up one run. Matt Lusk came in to close out the game in the final two innings to close out the win. The Eights improved to 17-8 on the season.

Although, the second game was not completed through the first inning, the final at bat of the game was Grey Zabel’s final game with the Eights because he will report to North Dakota State, and he left no doubt the impact he brought to the team…

Head Coach Brian White says you can’t replace someone like Zabel…

And White says Stout had to battle tonight to get the win against Mitchell…

Post 8 will remain at home on Monday as they take on Sioux Falls East and Minot in another triangular. Both games will be on Today’s KCCR and todayskccr.com.
