Post 8 Baseball Steamrolls Yankton, Host Super Regional on Monday

Post 8 wasted no time in making quick work of Yankton on Tuesday in the region round as they shutout Yankton in both games 8-0 and 10-0.

In game one, Jack Van Camp again dominated the Yankton bats throwing five scoreless innings and getting more run support than he did last time as the Eights opened up a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second on a Cade Hinkle double. Andy Gordon and Maguire Raske each also drove in two runs on doubles. Jake Mayer and Elliot Leif went an inning each to finish the shutout and take game one.

Lincoln Kienholz was near untouchable in game two as he had a complete game five inning shutout of Yankton striking out 12 of the 15 recorded outs allowing just two base runners in the game. Gordon drove in three runs as he went 2-4 in the game as Van Camp added another two RBIs going 1-3. Everybody in the lineup had at least a hit in game two as Pierre advances to the Super Regional next Monday to host Harrisburg.

Post 8 manager Brian White was overall pleased with his pitching…

Gordon finished with five RBIs in the two games and White says he was the best hitter for Pierre all day…

And White says it means a lot to continue playing for another week…

Pierre will host Harrisburg on Monday in the Super Regional in a doubleheader. The “if necessary” game will be played on Tuesday. You can listen to the Super Regional on Today’s KCCR and todayskccr.com
