Post 8 Baseball Sweeps Mandan with Dramatic Walk-off Slam

They maybe the Eights, but seven is a lucky number for Pierre as Post 8 beats Mandan 10-4 in game one and 7-3 in game two to up the win streak to seven and now sit at 14-4 on the season.

In game one, Post 8 had a cruising performance from Matt Lusk and A.J. Goeden as they went seven innings giving up just four runs and Pierre took advantage of walks and errors and scored 10 times in the win.

In game two, Garrett Stout led off the bottom of the first inning with a home run to give the Eights a 1-0 lead. However, Pierre would accumulate one hit for the next four innings as the bats were stymied by Mandan. A two run home run in the top of the fifth for the Chiefs was their first hit of the game and only hit off of starter Collin Brueggeman. The Chiefs had a 2-1 lead which they were able to tack on one more to lead 3-1 heading into the final frame.

The bats came alive as Will Van Camp had an RBI single to tie the game at 3-3 when Stout came back to the plate with the bases loaded…
