Post 8 Rolls through Spearfish, Four Seed in Playoffs

Pierre Post 8 ended the season emphatically with a doubleheader sweep of Spearfish 9-0 and 15-0 allowing Spearfish just one hit combined in the two games.

In game one, Jack Van Camp, Lincoln Kienholz and Garrett Stout threw a combined no hitter while striking out 18 of the 21 outs. Van Camp went the first three innings with eight strikeouts and Kienholz and Stout went two innings with five strikes out each to finish off the no hitter. Stout drove in three runs including a home run in the win.

It was more of the same for the Eights in game two as they made short work of Spearfish winning 15-0 in five innings. Cade Hinkle led the way with three hits in the game as Pierre scored ten times in the third innings to open up the ballgame to the 15-0 score. Five pitchers threw an inning each as Spearfish picked up their first hit with two outs in the top of the fifth. Bennett Dean, Elliot Leif, Aaron Booth, Jake Mayer and Matt Lusk combined for the shutout setting the Pierre pitching staff to all be available on Tuesday when the playoffs start.
