Post 8 played the final two games of the extended weekend against Minot and Watertown
Post 8 opened up the day against the Minot Vistas and starter Tyler Harbert carved up Pierre as Minot won 10-0 in five innings. Harbert threw all five innings, allowing four hits, no walks and struck out two hitters. Grey Zabel took the loss on the mound as he lasted four innings giving up seven runs in the game. Josh Rowse threw the fifth inning giving up the final three runs.
In the top of the first, Dylan Buchanan added to his already impressive RBI total against Post 8 this season when he came to bat with the bases loaded and promptly unloaded them with a three RBI single to give the Vistas a 3-0. Another three runs in the fourth and three runs in the fifth sprinkled in with another RBI by Buchanan in the third inning made it an even 10-0 win for Minot.
In the second game and final game of the night, Post 8 used a 14 hit performance to take a 15-5 win over Watertown. Aaron Booth went all five innings for Post 8 allowing only one hit but the walks added up and the three errors committed defensively for Pierre allowed the five runs to score as Booth was charged for three earned runs on the night.
Post 8 scored three runs in the first, two in the second and four in the third and fourth inning before scoring the final two runs to eclipse the ten run rule in the fifth inning and take home the win.
Post 8 finishes the weekend at 3-2 and now 19-14 on the season as they head to the Gopher Classic this coming weekend. The first game of the tournament is at 2:00 on Friday as they take on Papillion, Nebraska followed by West Fargo.
