Rapid City Woman Pleads Guilty In Stanley County To Possession Of Mushrooms And Speeding At Nearly 100 Miles An Hour

(KCCR) — A Rapid City woman has entered guilty pleas in Stanley County for speeding and possession of a controlled substance. Stanley County States Attorney Tom Maher says 29 year-old Kaylee Zilverberg was pulled over on February 8th by a South Dakota Highway Patrol trooper doing 96 miles an hour in a 65 mile an hour zone in Stanley County. As the trooper’s investigation of the stop continued it was discovered that Zilverberg was in possession of psilocybin or psychedelic mushrooms, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The controlled substance offenses carry a maximum possible penalty of five years in prison and/or a 10-thousand dollar fine. The lesser charges carry a 30 day jail sentence and 500 dollar fine. Judge Christina Klinger withheld a finding of guilt following the pleas and ordered a presentence investigation. Zilverberg is scheduled for sentencing on June 4th.
