Riverfront Broadcasting News Wins Three Eric Sevareid Awards

Riverfront Broadcasting News was recognized this weekend for excellence in broadcast journalism. The stations including Todays KCCR, Capital City Rock and Pierre Country 95-3 picked up three “Eric Sevareid Awards” from the Midwest Broadcast Journalists Association. Two of the three awards are for a story on the funeral of Presho Fire Chief Don Manger, who died from a heart attack after working the scene of an abandoned structure fire last October…

The awards include Award of Merits for General Reporting, Broadcast Writing and Newscast for the five P-M, KCCR-AM news on October, 20th, which included the Manger story. The awards were given away Saturday night at the conclusion of the annual Midwest Journalism Conference held in Bloomington Minnesota.
