Shorthanded Tennis Team Shines in Invite

The Pierre Governor Tennis Team was still dealing with the normal varsity players out of the lineup ahead of the ESD on Tuesday but those that were able to step in win two of three duals on the day. The Governors beat Spearfish and Rapid City Christian both 7-2 and barely lost to Aberdeen Roncalli 5-4. Bailey Jessen and Sarah Mohr stepped into the varsity spots of players out while Caitlin Ott played singles for the first time on Saturday as well Carissa Ott moving up from Flight 6 to Flight 2 for the day.

Head Coach of the Pierre Governors Jessica Carr says she’s proud of the team, especially those who stepped up into varsity roles and new spots this weekend…

Carr says this invite was tremendously important to get in before ESD…

The Governors will get some players back for the ESD and Carr says those that have been out have still been working apart from the team…

The Governors will be in Harrisburg on Tuesday for the ESD tournament before the state tournament on October 5 and 6.
