(KCCR) — Central South Dakota has one more confirmed case of the coronavirus….
“We have two cases in Brookings County; one in Codington; one in Lyman; two in Lincoln and 26 in Minnehaha Counties.”
Lyman County now has two confirmed cases and one of those is listed as recovered. Hughes County remains unchanged with three confirmed positive cases and two recovered. State Epidemiologist Dr. Josh Clayton says South Dakota has a recorded two additional deaths from Covid-19…
“We are reporting 32 new cases of Covid-19 today. We have no new hospitalizations. We are also reporting two new deaths today. We have seven individuals who have recovered from Covid-19 and we have 216 new negative tests that have been performed. In total that brings our case count of Covid-19 in the state to 320 cases. That does include 23 hospitalizations as well as six deaths. We do have a total of 98 individuals who have recovered.”
Health Secretary Kim Malsom-Rysdon says the state is working improving its ability to conduct contact tracing…
“We have been able to keep up with the volume. We have a plan in place to surge our contact tracing and contact notification efforts to deal with what we expect to be increased volume as well. So we have a plan in place to do that. We’re bringing on new individuals to help with that effort and so far we’ve been able to keep up.”
State Health officials announced Tuesday afternoon that an employee of the Walmart in Yankton has tested positive for the coronavirus. That person worked March 25th and 30th while being able to transmit the virus. Officials are asking those who may have used the Yankton Walmart pharmacy March 25th from 10 am to 7 pm and March 30th from 10 am to 2 pm should monitor themselves for symptoms through April 13th.
