Using a balance of run and pass, the Sully Buttes Chargers picked up a 46-8 victory over Hitchcock Tulare Thursday night in Onida on the first night of postseason playoff football.
Sully Buttes had 158 yards on the ground, and 144 through the air for a total of 302 total yards offense against the Patriots. Morris Hofer led the way in rushing, with 91 yards on the ground, while Nick Wittler went 11 of 18 through the air for 144 yards. Cameron Ogle had two of those catches for touchdowns, and Hofer scored a total of three TD’s, two on the ground, and one through the air.
Hitchcock Tulare was led offensively by Ty Hofer, who ended the night with 114 yards rushing, with the Patriots ending the night with 165 total yards offensively.
Next up for Sully Buttes—now 9-0 on the season—is a home contest next Thursday against Kadoka Area, a 12-8 winner over higher seeded Harding County.
