Sully Buttes Ends Regular Season still with Sight on Playoffs

It was believed the Sully Buttes Chargers need to win out in the second half of the season to make the playoffs. After last Friday’s double overtime loss to Faulkton Area, the immediate reaction was week eight would be the end of the road for the Chargers. However, as the seed points laid out heading into week eight the Chargers are very much alive in the playoff race and have a very real possibility of making the playoffs.

The Chargers face Ipswich/Edmunds Central on the road to close out the regular season. The Tigers are 5-2 on the season and sit in second place in Region 1 in Class 9A. The Chargers are in fourth place in the Region 4 standings and are currently the 17th place team in 9A. A win for Hitchcock-Tulare over North Border will all but secure a spot in the playoffs for the Chargers with a win or a loss.

Head Coach of the Sully Buttes Chargers Mark Senftner says his team is only worried about taking care of business in Ipswich…

And Senftner says controlling the line of scrimmage, tackling and read and reacting will be key for the Chargers…

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 on Country 95.3, pierrecountry.com and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with the voice of the Sully Buttes Chargers DT Meyer and Lewis Hofer on the call.
