Sully Buttes Faces Canistota/Freeman with Trip to Brookings on the Line

Last year, the Sully Buttes Chargers were the runner up in the Class 9B State Championship falling to Colome in overtime in the game of the weekend. The team that won the 9A title, Canistota/Freeman, the team the Chargers face tonight in what could very well be the best game of the state semifinal weekend.

The Chargers come in with home field advantage at now 10-0 while Canistota/Freeman has a 9-1 record with the only loss coming to undefeated Viborg-Hurley who is playing the Class 9AA state semifinal.

Head Coach Mark Senftner again sang praises to his coaching staff for being able to adjust midgame and create positive results…

This Canistota/Freeman team will pose a lot of problems for the Chargers and Senftner knows it starts with their backfield…

Kickoff tonight is scheduled for 7:00 as the Chargers and Pride look for a spot in the State Championship next week Thursday. Listen to the game on Country 95.3 and pierrecountry.com as DT Meyer and Hayden Handcock will bring you the call.
