The Sully Buttes Charger volleyball team traveled to Ipswich Thursday night to try and continue their season. It didn’t end the way they wanted, but they didn’t go without a fight.
The Ipswich Tigers held off the Chargers by scores of 25-20, 25-23, and 25-21. The Chargers kept things close all night long, but some service errors, and missed hits were the only difference against the second seed in Region 2B.
Seniors Kendra Kleven, Angela Guthmiller and Kiley McGee helped the young squad get to this point, and almost made another upset, going into the post season as the sixth seed. The Chargers’ season ends with an 11-19 mark, while Ipswich is now at 20-6 will compete in the SoDak 16 next Tuesday, and will be seeded 10th, and will face the seventh seed, the Burke Lady Cougars.
