The Sully Buttes Charger girls and boys basketball teams used their size and experience Saturday to come away with victories over James Valley Christian Saturday in Onida.
The Charger girls had the first game, started strong, and rolled to a 53-18 victory. Seniors Rachel Guthmiller and Marinda Archer led the way in scoring—each totaling 14 points. The Chargers kept their record perfect after going 3-0 last week, and now have a record of 7-0 on the season.
The Charger boys used their low post size and dominance to come away with a 75-59 win over JVC. The boys were led in scoring by six foot nine senior Lincoln Jordre—who finished with 26 points, while Nick Wittler added 16, and Jacob Howard added twelve. The Charger boys are now 5-1 on the year.
Both teams will be back in action Thursday for a doubleheader, as they’ll host Miller. Those games can be heard on Country 95.3FM and pierrecountry-dot-com, with DT Meyer.
