After starting with a strong first quarter, the Sully Buttes Charger girls basketball team cruised to a 58-32 victory over Mobridge Pollock Tuesday night in Mobridge. The Chargers led 23-3 after the first quarter, and were able to utilize substitute players mixed in with starters for the remainder of the game, to give them experience and court time.
Leading the way in scoring once again was Rachel Guthmiller, who finished the night with 20 points—despite sitting most of the second quarter with three personal fouls. Lauren Wittler tallied 18 points, while Marinda Archer finished with nine points.
Mobridge Pollock lost their leading scorer before the Christmas break with a torn ACL, and filled in with younger players. The Lady Tigers were led in scoring by Jestice Talley, who finished with nine points.
Sully Buttes remains perfect with a 4-0 record on the season, while Mobridge Pollock drops to 1-7 on the season. Next up for the Chargers is a road game against Highmore Harrold Friday night in Highmore.
