The Sully Buttes Chargers traveled to Sunshine Bible Academy looking for two dominating wins and that’s exactly what they did. The boys knocked off Sunshine Bible Academy 70-56 and the Charger girls won 61-32.
In the girls contest, Lauren Wittler led the way for the Chargers with 22 points on the night. The Charger girls led at the half 29-12 and outscored Sunshine Bible Academy in every quarter and tied in the fourth. Sully Buttes got the lead up to 35 in the middle of the fourth quarter at their largest. Kendra Kleven added 15 points in the win as the Charger girls improve to 11-7 on the season and sit in fourth place in the Region 2B standings.
The boys contest didn’t go much different. The Charger boys jumped out to a 16 point lead at halftime as they got a 20 point night from Cam Ogle while Nick Wittler added 15 points and Morris Hofer finished with 10 points. Sunshine Bible Academy had no answer from the three players in double figures although Travis Hass finished with a game high 34 points. The Charger boys are now 14-3 on the season and still sit in first place in the Region 2B standings.
Up next for both the boys and girls will be a doubleheader tomorrow as they travel to Faulkton as it will also be the last game of the season for the Charger girls.
