Three More Inmates From Monday Night Walk-Out Taken Into Custody In Pierre

(KCCR) — State Corrections officials say three more inmates of the nine who walked away from the Pierre Community Work Center are back in custody. Inmates Carly Schoneman, Alice Richards and Kayla Lamont were apprehended in Pierre Wednesday night. Three other inmates were taken into custody on the Crow Creek Indian Reservation Monday, the day the nine walked away around 8:45 pm. Another inmate was apprehended Monday in Rapid City. Two inmates, Philomeme Boneshirt and Sylvia Red Leaf remain on escape status. All nine were housed in the same unit at the state Women’s Prison in Pierre as an inmate who tested positive for the coronavirus. That case is the lone case of Covid-19 reported so far in Hughes County.
