Trappers Fall in Final Game of Series to Spearfish

An absolutely crazy game to finish out the season series with the Spearfish Sasquatch did not go the way for the Pierre Trappers in the 13-11 loss, Sunday afternoon.

In a game that took over four hours to play, a guy playing every position, and a chance to put another half game distance on the Sabre Dogs, the Trappers couldn’t quite get the comeback one more time in the series. The Trappers had a 10-7 lead heading into the eighth inning but a total of six runs came home on a three run home run, a double and a single. The Trappers collected six errors in the game, four by Johnathan Boulaphinh.

Coach Tanner Neale said it was an entertaining game with all the runs scored, but the errors costed them the game…

Billy Moreland was able to play all nine positions in the game, which is a rare feat in itself, and for Moreland, he felt comfortable for the most part…

Now, the Trappers lead by just a half a game heading into the final full week of the season, and Neale knows how important these games are…

The Trappers will play Freemont in a three game, two day series before heading to Minot over the weekend. You can listen to tonight’s Riverfront Broadcasting night with first pitch at 7:05 on Today’s KCCR and todayskccr.com
