Two Pierre Residents Arrested After Strong-Armed Robbery Attempt In Griffin Park

(KCCR) — Two Pierre residents were arrested Monday evening as Pierre police investigate a possible strong-armed robbery in Griffin Park. Pierre Police Department Captain Bryan Walz says officers arrived as the alleged assault was taking place around six pm in Griffin Park along the Missouri River. Upon arrival, officers learned from the alleged victim that she had been accosted by a male and female suspect. Walz says as the victim tried to call 911 for help, but the female suspect took the phone and threw it, then stole the victim’s wallet. Officers located the two suspects, identified by police as 28 year-old Teri Hairybird and 28 year-old Patrick Lebeau in the tent camping area of Griffin Park. Police found the wallet in Hairybird’s possession. Both Hairybird and Lebeau were arrested on multiple charges. Harrybird is charged with Second Degree Robbery, Petty Theft, Intentional Damage to Property and Interference with Emergency Communications. Lebeau is charged with Simple Assault Intimidation and Disorderly Conduct. He is also being held on a Department of Corrections detainer. Both are currently being held in the Hughes County Jail.
