TULSA, Okla. – A second half that saw the South Dakota men’s basketball team shoot 75 percent from the field propelled the Coyotes to an 85-67 victory over Oral Roberts Wednesday night in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The win gives the Coyotes a Division I-era best 23 wins with its 23-6 record. The Coyotes also move within a half-game of first place in the Summit League with a 10-2 record. Oral Roberts falls to 10-19 overall and 4-8 in league play.
Tyler Hagedorn tallied a game-high 20 points with Matt Mooney adding 19 points and Triston Simpson 14 points. For the game, South Dakota shot 55.7 percent from the field on 34-of-61 field goal attempts. In the second half, the Coyotes shot 21-of-28 from the field for 75 percent. Hagedorn tallied a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds, his third double-double of the season and fourth of his career. He scored his 20 points on 9-of-10 shooting and also dished two assists and tallied two steals. Javan White tallied a double-double for Oral Roberts with 15 points and 11 rebounds while Austin Ruder scored 13 points.
The Golden Eagles made 23-of-61 shot attempts for 37.7 percent from the field. South Dakota closes its home schedule on Saturday against Omaha.
Tip-off inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center is slated for 3:30 p.m. with Senior Day festivities happening prior to the starting line-ups.
