(KCCR) — A road in Pierre under construction will stay that way through mid-June. Prospect Avenue from Sebree Place and Yankton Avenue will remain shut down to through traffic until at least June 12th. Prospect from Oneida to Willow Avenues will stay closed until June 6th. The closure of Prospect in those locations will allow City of Pierre crews to rebuild and resurface the construction zones. Local traffic will continue to have access into the work zone. Through traffic is encouraged to detour the area. Meanwhile, work will begin June 1st at Mickelson Pond. The entrance to the pond from East Fourth Street will be closed for construction. While vehicles will not be able to access the parking area, the area around Mickelson Pond will still be accessible to the public by way of the walking trails into the pond area.
